He seemed to like this idea and told me a long and excessively convoluted story about a ten year old addict who came in trying to pick up his mother's methadone allotment. Jake explained that even though the kid brought his mother's photo ID ("the kind you get at one of those camera stores") they couldn't give it to anyone but the woman. So like an hour later the kid comes in with his mother, only she's in a beat up wheelchair and she's not talking. It turns out the kid wheeled his (or someone's) dead mother into the methadone clinic trying to get her drugs. Jake grabbed him when he tried to run and said the kid bit him and screamed "AIDS!". Luckily he didn't bite through Jake's shirt and the cops hauled the kid off." This is the first time I've even seen an article on something awful that was more sad than funny. I find it amazing that there would be enough addicts to line up for ages. The gayfuel thing underneath is funny though. Hey, it's like a day under a month tilll dashboard. Adam (dashboard adam, the drummer) is going to the concert in sydney as well & looking for splendor tixs or ebay. I reckon I'll just enter every splendor comp that's on at the moment. There is a really good one on channel v where they pay for your plane tix aswell. Maddy came over last night (band prac got moved to wednesday) and I showed her homestar runner. Lotsa piano and good singing. But anyway. I wentout friday night for my first ever work night out drinking lots and being stupid. It was at the barking dog. There was a cute guy there. But things were strange. But I wont go into it all here, cuase I'm not of those emo kids who talks about their love lives online :P. Lets just say, I've never met someone in person that I'd only known for about an hour, that would then have a D and M about why he felt weird about kissing me because of one hundred different reasons. For half an hour. At a pub. He was very cute, very 24 years old, and had enough emotional baggage to need to pay fees if he was trying to get it out of the country. Or so it seemed. I mean, he asked me to come out to say goodbye, and if I wanted to wait for my parents in his car (!). What the hell? Thats enough of that subject. That night I got home and the rem covers dvd was sitting there! Yayness. I watched it saturday morning. It was so so so so so so good. No matter how much people hate dashboard, they are talented. Mikes high-pitched singing was great, actually, the backing in general was great, at times there were three people singing at once, it was so good. Finally watching hands down with micheal stipe singing, I think it was good. Different, but still good, the emotion was still there. I'm sorry about my dissing of Devart in my last post. It was meant to be a joke, but some people got a bit peeved. Sorry to those people, I didn't actually mean it. I was just screwing around and making a point of how irritated you can get at a site being down for a day or so. Hmmm maybe I should put some special sarcasm disclaimer before some of my posts. :P Still, it's another reason for me not to become a subsciber. I'd much rather put my cash into a purevolume account than a devart one. But maybe that's cause I'm more into music than art. I mean, everyone knows my dream job is not art related, it's just my within reason dream job, cause chances are I might not be a rockstar (but I still have lots of time) I finally watched underworld on sunday, Adam brought it over (thankyou!). It was pretty good, considering. I'm not into fantasy that much (says the rabid harry potter fan) But I liked the whole theme of the movie, even though it took awhile to get to the point. It was very much a guy's movie, lots of blood and violence and guns and hot chicks. But it had a storyline, and a cool one, and I wonder if they are going to do a sequel? Was it ever a book or comic or something before it was a movie? Oh, and apparently there is a finch vid on the dvd. Finch are good. (for a drive thru band, drive thru SUCKS) Friday, June 25, 2004
The Leaky Cauldron This is really really sad. Does anyone remember this kid from Oprah? He had such a crappy life but still wrote really beautiful stuff. This really really sucks. (not to be confused with frikken lazers) The only othertimes I go that long without internet is sometimes on weekends, or it I go on holidays! That meant no email from overseas (which the company basically relies on to work) and no internet for me to get stuff off for work, and no internet for me to look at at lunch time! Not happy,juan. (I had to change jan to juan due to legal reasons. juan is the mexican dude who works at wasabi and didn't put us in the yellow pages. Just cause we don't have any services to provide! Damn you, Juan!) Yeah, um yeah... anyway, I get online to put up some shiznizzleizzle on dev art and they say it's read only. What you say, deviant art?! What you say indeed. I'm so not in love with deviant art anymore. I'm not even gonna put lovehearts around it's name on my pencil case. Music industry sues more file swappers This is so lame. EVERYONE has illegal files on their computer, it's never going to stop. I still buy cds, I still by books,and most other things I can get online for free. The real problem is that cds aretoo expensive, and they don't offer much that mp3s cant. The whole trend of bonus dvds is great tho, that definately makes me more inclined to buy a cd. I just know if I like the band enough, I buy the cd. if I dont, the mp3 just sits there doing nothing. I don't give my mp3s to anyone else, and most of the time, I dont download full albums, either. I mainly use the internet to make lots of mix cds to find out about new bands. deviantART: muskawo New stuff at my deviant art site. So anyway I went and got my dashboard ticket today. Saw a kid wearing a behind crimson eyes hoodie. I think I scared everyone else in the line. I bought the new name talen and the new gyroscope, and a new bag, black and red chex. They have vans in that style coming out, I think I'll get them, might import them so I have them before everyone else. I'm such a snob! I think Adam was super scared of my street press taking ways. But it was all okay in the end. They were distributed around the train. Oh! We also got cool new lighters to go with our cool new hangout - planet pool. They are balls that are lighters. I'll have to do a review of this movie seeing I saw it TWICE over the weekend (My mum wasn't happy about this, the same way she doesn't get going to see the same band more than once!) But yeah.
